French corporate and investment bank Natixis is expanding into Japan. The move aims to partner with the country's major financial institutions.
Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Namias stated the goal is to finance global infrastructure projects. This includes developments in renewable energy and digital technology. The bank will open a new branch in Tokyo to lead this effort.
Namias explained that Japanese banks hold significant capital and share similar interests in long-term investments. He believes this makes them ideal partners for large-scale infrastructure deals. This strategy allows Natixis to leverage local relationships while accessing new sources of funding.
The foray into Japan is part of the bank's broader growth plan. Natixis intends to increase its focus on sustainable finance and expand its international network.
