Iran executed a man on Wednesday after convicting him of spying for Israel, the country's judiciary announced.
Hamidreza Sabet Esmailpour was hanged following his arrest in April 2025. The judiciary's Mizan news agency stated he was accused of passing information to an agent of Mossad, Israel's intelligence service.
Iran and Israel are longtime adversaries. Tehran frequently announces the arrest or execution of individuals it accuses of working with Israeli intelligence.
