A passenger bus crashed off a bridge and into a river in central Cambodia early Thursday, killing at least 13 people and injuring 24 others. Local police confirmed the incident occurred in Kampong Thom province.
The bus was traveling from Siem Reap, the city that serves the famous Angkor Wat temple complex, to the capital, Phnom Penh. Deputy police chief Siv Sovanna stated the accident happened during predawn hours.
Authorities confirmed that all passengers on the bus were Cambodian citizens. An investigation into the cause of the crash is now underway.
