Feminist groups in Istanbul have called for a public protest following the murder of a woman.
The organizers are urging people to gather at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The meeting point is the Pangaltı exit of the Osmanbey metro station.
From there, the group will march to Kuyulubağ Street. This is the location where the woman was recently killed.
The action is a response to what activists call an ongoing crisis of femicide in Turkey. Femicide is the intentional killing of women or girls because of their gender.
The protest aims to draw public attention to violence against women.
