A shocking video circulating on social media appears to show the execution of 22 Syrian soldiers. The incident reportedly happened in Ayn al-Arab, a town in northern Syria also known as Kobani.
The footage appears to show the soldiers lined up before being shot. Reports link the act to the YPG/SDF, a Kurdish-led militia group designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye.
This reported execution occurred despite a recent ceasefire deal in the region. The agreement was meant to reduce violence between the YPG/SDF and Turkish-backed forces.
A human rights monitor has also accused the YPG/SDF of killing civilians earlier this month. That alleged incident took place in Syria's Raqqa province.
The emerging video has raised serious international concern about violations of the ceasefire and the laws of war.
