An Ohio surgeon has pleaded not guilty to murder charges after being accused of killing his ex-wife and her new husband, a dentist.
Dr. Gulam H. Moonda appeared in an Ohio court this week. He was recently extradited from Illinois. Authorities accuse him of the 2005 murders of his former wife, Dr. Farida Moonda, and her husband, Dr. Shaikh Mohiuddin.
The victims were found shot to death in their home. The case remained unsolved for years before new evidence led to Moonda's arrest.
In his first court appearance in Ohio, Moonda formally entered a plea of not guilty to two counts of murder. His legal defense team will now begin preparing for trial. The next steps in the court process will be determined at a future hearing.
