The head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned that artificial intelligence (AI) will hit the global job market like a "tsunami." She said young workers will suffer the most.
Kristalina Georgieva issued the warning at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Friday. She cited IMF research showing AI will affect 60% of jobs in advanced economies.
Georgieva explained that the technology will cause a major shift in the skills employers want. Many entry-level positions are expected to disappear.
This could make it harder for young people to start their careers. The IMF chief urged leaders to prepare for this coming transformation.
