A 16-year veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has filed a lawsuit against the agency. He claims that officials fired him because he displayed a Pride flag at his workspace.
The employee, Scott MacFarlane, alleges he was terminated last month. His lawsuit states the reason for his dismissal was a Pride flag draped near his desk. The flag is a symbol of support for the LGBTQ+ community.
The FBI has not publicly commented on the pending legal case. The lawsuit will now proceed through the federal court system.
