Veteran Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård has a simple view of his profession. After starring in over 150 films and TV shows, he compares acting to the freedom of childhood.
"You never grow up," he explained.
Skarsgård's wide-ranging career includes acclaimed dramas like "Breaking the Waves," the musical "Mamma Mia!," and the recent Star Wars series "Andor." He recently won a Golden Globe for his latest role.
In "Sentimental Value," he plays a filmmaker attempting to reconnect with his daughters, who are actresses. The part mirrors real life: several of Skarsgård's own children are successful actors.
For him, the job remains about play. It requires an adult's discipline, he notes, but a child's imagination.
