A former school district police officer acquitted in the Uvalde shooting response has broken his silence.
Adrian Gonzales told ABC News he stands by his actions on the day of the 2022 tragedy. He claims prosecutors made him a "scapegoat."
Gonzales was found not guilty of charges related to his conduct during the law enforcement response. The verdict was delivered last week.
In his first interview since the trial, he argued officials needed someone to blame for the delayed confrontation of the gunman.
