Hollywood's Biggest Stars Accuse AI Firms of "Theft"

Hundreds of top artists are demanding that artificial intelligence companies stop using their work without permission. Actors Scarlett Johansson and Cate Blanchett, the band REM, and author Jodi Picoult are leading the campaign. They accuse AI firms of building their technology by "stealing" creative work. The campaign says this is done without authorization and violates copyright law. Approximately 800 performers, musicians, and writers support the effort. It is called "Stealing Isn’t Innovation." The group urges AI companies to make licensing deals instead of taking material from the internet.
