Turkish Police Halt Protest March to Syrian Border with Tear Gas, Water Cannons

Police in the Turkish town of Suruç used tear gas, gas bombs, and armored water cannon vehicles to disperse a crowd marching toward the border with North and East Syria.
The protesters were holding a solidarity march to the border region near Kobani. Authorities intervened before the planned march and a scheduled press statement could be completed.
Following intense tear gas, the demonstration ended abruptly.
