Trump Rules Out Military Force to Acquire Greenland

President Donald Trump has stated he will not use military action in his pursuit of acquiring Greenland for the United States. He made the remarks while speaking to world leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. However, the President reaffirmed his campaign for the U.S. to take control of the strategic Arctic island. The U.S. government previously attempted to purchase Greenland from Denmark in 1946. The Danish government has repeatedly and firmly rejected the idea of selling the autonomous territory. Greenland is rich in natural resources and holds growing geopolitical importance due to Arctic shipping routes.
