Court Drops Judicial Control of Trans Activist Iris Mozalar

A Turkish court has removed judicial controls for activist Iris Mozalar. Mozalar had been required to regularly report to authorities.
The decision came during a hearing where Mozalar and lawyer Gülyeter Aktepe presented their defense. Mozalar explained her reasons for participating in an International Women's Day event on March 8.
She also stated that the legal cases against her go beyond discrimination and targeting. Mozalar emphasized that the lawsuits are directly linked to her identity as a transgender person.
