WestJet Airlines has cancelled a plan to add more seats to its aircraft. The airline reversed its decision after strong negative feedback from customers.
The plan would have reduced the space between rows of seats, known as legroom. This practice, often called "densification," is common among airlines seeking to increase revenue per flight.
A WestJet spokesperson stated the airline listens carefully to its guests. The decision was made to maintain current comfort levels.
The reversal comes as the airline industry balances rising costs with competitive ticket prices. For now, WestJet passengers will avoid more crowded cabins.
