The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate (SJS) has reported 67 separate attacks on media professionals this year. These violations include the murders of at least 14 journalists and media workers.
The new data shows a continuing crisis for press freedom. Since the start of Sudan's civil war, the SJS has now recorded 590 total violations against the press.
The syndicate did not provide details on who was responsible for the killings and other attacks. The ongoing conflict involves the national army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
