Armenia’s Prime Minister has announced a major breakthrough in regional relations. Core issues concerning transit routes have been resolved, a significant step toward reopening long-blocked roads and railways.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated the agreement was made under the TRIPP framework. TRIPP, the Tbilisi Regional Transit and Infrastructure Project Platform, is a multilateral initiative supported by the European Union.
The implementation deal specifically addresses transport links between mainland Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan exclave. These routes would cross Armenian territory.
Pashinyan called the agreement a key advancement for broader peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Reopening regional transit is seen as vital for economic growth and stability in the South Caucasus.
The next phase involves detailed planning and construction on the ground. International observers hope this progress will build trust for a final peace treaty.
