Uganda's Electoral Commission (EC) has added an extra hour to voting time nationwide. Polls will now close at 5:00 p.m. instead of 4:00 p.m.
The commission made this decision because of late starts at many polling stations across the country. These delays affected the opening of voting in several areas.
The extension means all voters in line by 5:00 p.m. will be allowed to cast their ballots. The EC has not specified how many stations had a delayed start.
