Morocco has moved one step closer to winning the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on home soil. The team defeated Nigeria in a tense semi-final match.
The game ended 0-0 after regular time. Morocco then won 4-2 in a penalty shootout.
This victory puts Morocco into its first AFCON final since 2004. The team will now face Senegal for the continental championship.
Morocco last won the AFCON title in 1976. Senegal, the defending champion, is appearing in its third final in the last seven years.
