A family dispute over a parking fine has left a mother and daughter at odds. The issue began after a trip to the airport.
Margaret drove her daughter, Georgia, to the airport using Georgia’s car. At the airport, drivers must pay a fee to use the drop-off zone. Margaret knew this, but Georgia did not pay the charge. The airport later issued a fine.
Margaret believes her daughter should pay the fine. "We dropped Georgia off in her own car and she didn’t pay the drop-off fee, so the fine is hers," she states.
Georgia sees it differently. She argues her mother is responsible. "I didn’t know you had to pay for drop-off," Georgia says. "Mum knew and didn’t tell me, so she should help pay."
The question remains: who is responsible for the charge? Should the driver pay for the violation, or does the passenger with prior knowledge share the blame?
