Four astronauts have left the International Space Station (ISS) ahead of schedule. Their departure was due to a medical issue with one crewmember.
The crew, known as Crew-11, undocked from the ISS earlier than planned. They are now aboard their SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft.
The capsule is expected to splash down overnight off the coast of California. Recovery teams will meet the astronauts there.
NASA has not identified the ill crewmember or detailed the medical condition. The agency stated the issue is not a medical emergency. All crew are in good condition for their return to Earth.
The early return allows the crew to receive medical attention on the ground sooner. Mission managers determined this was the safest course of action.
