Ryanair will cut more than 1.1 million seats from its Belgian airports this winter. The airline blames new government taxes for the drastic reduction.
The decision follows two new charges. Belgium introduced a federal airport tax of €10 per passenger. Additionally, Charleroi Airport added a local tax of €3.
The low-cost carrier says these taxes make operations in Belgium uncompetitive. The seat cuts will affect routes from both Charleroi and Brussels Zaventem airports.
This reduction represents a significant decrease in available flights. It will impact travel options for passengers during the upcoming winter season.
