Japan has delivered a new shipment of military-grade off-road vehicles to Ukraine. The shipment includes Toyota "High Mobility Vehicles" (HMVs), which are built for tough terrain.
This move continues Japan's defense support for Ukraine. However, it carefully avoids sending lethal weapons directly. By providing equipment like transport and medical vehicles, Japan stays within the limits of its pacifist constitution.
The Toyota HMVs are not ordinary trucks. They are rugged, all-terrain vehicles used by Japan's Self-Defense Forces. They can transport troops and supplies over difficult ground where other vehicles cannot go.
Alongside the vehicles, Japan also sent more medical supplies. This aid is part of Japan's broader non-lethal support for Ukraine since the war began.
