An independent journalist says he was trapped and terrified when protesters surrounded his car in Minneapolis.
Nick Sortor was covering a demonstration against the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, known as ICE. He reported that agitators swarmed his vehicle, blocking him from leaving.
Sortor, who identifies as conservative, said the experience was "terrifying." He suggested it is dangerous to hold right-leaning political views in the city.
The incident occurred as protesters marched through downtown Minneapolis. The demonstration was part of a series of ongoing protests targeting federal immigration policies.
No injuries were reported. Local police have not commented on the specific encounter.
