A German non-governmental organization (NGO) has launched legal action against the French energy company TotalEnergies. The NGO accuses the company of being complicit in war crimes linked to its natural gas project in Mozambique.
The group filed a formal legal complaint on Tuesday. It states that the company's operations at its Mozambique gas site make it responsible for these alleged crimes.
The case will proceed in France. The court will now examine the evidence and the accusations against the multinational energy giant.
