Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have declined to testify before a congressional committee investigating Jeffrey Epstein.
The Republican-led House Oversight Committee sought their statements. The Clintons refused, accusing committee chairman James Comer of conducting a partisan attack.
Chairman Comer has threatened to hold them in contempt of Congress for their refusal. The committee is examining Epstein’s sex trafficking network and the immunity deal given to his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Jeffrey Epstein was a convicted sex offender. He died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on new trafficking charges. The investigation continues.
