A Florida mother was shot and killed while protecting her children after an argument with her husband over an NFL game escalated into violence, according to police.
Crystal Roure, 38, was fatally wounded in her Port St. Lucie home. Her husband, Jason Kenney, 41, is accused of her murder.
Police reports state the incident began with a dispute over a professional football game. Kenney allegedly became enraged, retrieved a firearm, and threatened the family.
Officials say Roure placed herself between Kenney and their children. She instructed her son to call emergency services before she was shot.
Kenney fled the scene but was later arrested. He now faces a charge of first-degree murder. The children were not physically harmed.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
