Hong Kong Marathon Hits Record: 1 in 4 Runners Flying In

This Sunday's Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon will see a record international turnout. Organizers announced that about one in four of the 74,000 participants traveled from outside the city to race. The Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates confirmed the milestone on Monday. This marks the highest proportion of non-local runners in the event's history. Major road closures for the race will disrupt public transport. Officials warn that 269 bus routes and 40 minibus routes will be affected. Residents are strongly advised to plan their travel in advance. The transport impact is expected to last throughout Sunday morning due to the marathon course.
