Water service has been restored to Aleppo and its surrounding region after a critical failure cut the supply for hours.
Syria's Minister of Energy, Mohammad al-Bashir, announced the resumption early Sunday. The outage was caused by the shutdown of the Babiri Water Pumping Station. This key facility is located in the eastern countryside of Aleppo governorate.
The minister did not specify the reason for the station's failure. The interruption lasted several hours before pumping was restored.
