Stolen Superman Comic Sells for $15 Million
A rare copy of the first Superman comic, once stolen from actor Nicolas Cage, has sold at auction for $15 million. The issue is Action Comics No. 1, published in 1938. It introduced the superhero to the world. Experts believe fewer than 100 copies still exist. Cage bought the comic in 1997 for $150,000. It was stolen from his home in 2000 and was missing for over a decade. Police recovered it in 2011 from an abandoned storage unit. The recent sale was part of a larger auction of comic books. The identity of the new owner was not made public.
