Water Cut to Aleppo: SDF Blamed for Pump Station Shutdown
A major pumping station supplying water to Syria's Aleppo province has been shut down, cutting services across the region. The Syrian government's Energy Ministry stated the shutdown was ordered by military elements affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The SDF is a Kurdish-led military alliance that controls large parts of northeastern Syria. The station at the Alouk water facility is a critical source. Its closure disrupts water access for homes, hospitals, and businesses in Aleppo and surrounding areas. No reason for the order was given in the ministry's statement. The SDF has not yet publicly commented on the allegation.
