Nestlé Hong Kong has recalled an additional batch of its baby milk formula. The action is due to ongoing fears of potential bacterial contamination.
This recall expands a list first issued on Tuesday. The concern is a toxin called cereulide. It is produced by the *Bacillus cereus* microorganism and can cause food poisoning.
However, Hong Kong authorities state their latest tests found no toxins in Nestlé formula currently on store shelves. The government says products now available for sale are safe.
A Nestlé spokeswoman announced the new recall on Saturday. The affected batch has a best-before date of June 16, 2027. The company stated, “The batch only had a small distribution.” It was pulled from sale as a precautionary measure.
This is the second such recall by the company in Hong Kong within a week. Consumers who have purchased the identified batch should not use it.
