A massive system failure paralyzed one of the world's busiest land borders on Saturday. Tens of thousands of travelers were stranded between Malaysia and Singapore.
The crash shut down most automated immigration gates at Malaysia's two main checkpoints. Authorities had to process all travelers manually, creating huge delays.
The worst congestion hit the Sultan Iskandar Building complex in Johor Bahru. Foreign visitors there reported waits of up to two hours to clear immigration.
