Turkey Urges Syrian Kurdish Group to Talk with Damascus

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has called on the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to pursue dialogue with the Syrian government. He stated a 2024 agreement between Damascus and the SDF is a "realistic project." Fidan made the remarks in an interview with Turkish broadcaster TRT on Saturday. He argued that the current unrealistic element is the SDF's apparent unwillingness to follow this path. The SDF is a Kurdish-led military alliance in Syria and a key partner of the United States in the fight against ISIS.
