A French retiree has been fined for breaking an egg on the head of Jordan Bardella, the president of France's National Rally party.
The incident occurred in November at a book signing event in the town of Moissac. The man, identified as a retired farmer, waited in line to meet Bardella. When he reached the front, he cracked a raw egg on the politician's head.
This was not the man's first offense. In 2022, he received a sentence for throwing an egg at Eric Zemmour, another far-right candidate, during that year's presidential election campaign.
A court has now ordered the 69-year-old to pay a €500 fine for the attack on Bardella.
