Host nation Morocco delivered a powerful performance to reach the Africa Cup of Nations semifinals. They defeated Cameroon 2-0 in a convincing win on Saturday.
Brahim Diaz scored just before halftime. Ismael Saibari added a second goal soon after the break. Cameroon's attack, known as the Indomitable Lions, failed to create serious chances.
In the other quarter-final, Senegal struggled to a 1-0 victory over Mali. The winning goal came from Iliman Ndiaye.
Mali played most of the match with only 10 men. Their key player, Yves Bissouma, received a second yellow card and was sent off early in the first half.
The tournament continues Saturday with two more quarter-finals. Algeria will play Nigeria. Later, seven-time champions Egypt face the defending champions, Ivory Coast.
