The operation, named "Operation Charlotte's Web," targeted individuals who are in the country illegally and have criminal histories. Among those arrested was a confirmed member of the MS-13 gang. Officials also stated that 44 of the individuals taken into custody had prior criminal convictions. The operation was carried out by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
