Hong Kong Forms 'GoGlobal' Legal Team for Chinese Firms
Hong Kong has created a special committee of legal experts to help mainland Chinese companies expand abroad. The city's Department of Justice announced the 13-member panel on Friday. Named the Expert Committee on Professional Services for Going Global, it will advise on promoting Hong Kong's legal and dispute resolution services. The group is chaired by Deputy Secretary for Justice Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan. It will build upon the government's existing "GoGlobal" platform, launched last December. Cheung said the committee will gather insights to support mainland businesses. The goal is to leverage Hong Kong's professional strengths as those companies grow internationally. The move reinforces Hong Kong's role as a gateway for China's overseas investments.
