A new industrial robot has made its global debut. It is the first of its kind designed and built entirely in Vietnam.
The robot was unveiled this week at the CES technology show in Las Vegas. It is a collaboration between American chip giant Qualcomm and VinFast, a division of Vietnam's largest private conglomerate, Vingroup.
Named "Rosa," the robot is an "intelligent manipulator" designed for factories. It uses Qualcomm's advanced robotics platform to see, think, and act. This allows it to perform precise tasks like assembling parts or moving materials without constant human guidance.
The launch marks a significant step for Vietnam's technology sector. It demonstrates a move beyond manufacturing for other companies into creating its own advanced automation. For Qualcomm, it is a key example of its chips being used in next-generation industrial equipment.
VinFast stated that Rosa is ready for pilot testing and commercial orders. The robot aims to help factories increase efficiency and address labor shortages.
