Chris Rokos, founder of London-based Rokos Capital Management, has awarded himself a payout of £477 million. This follows a highly profitable year for his hedge fund.
The fund achieved a 31% return for investors in 2024. This performance was driven by major price movements, or "wild swings," in global stock, bond, and raw materials markets.
The massive payout highlights the extreme rewards available in the hedge fund industry for successful managers. Rokos, a former partner at the famous Brevan Howard fund, started his own firm in 2015.
The £477 million sum represents his personal share of the fund's profits. It is separate from the returns earned by the fund's external investors.
