Sheriff Excluded from ICE Shooting Probe She Oversees

A Minnesota sheriff says the FBI has shut her department out of the investigation into a fatal shooting by federal immigration agents. The FBI is now leading the probe into the shooting by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers. The incident happened in Hennepin County. Sheriff Dawanna Witt has jurisdiction over the area where the shooting occurred. She says federal investigators are now restricting local access to evidence and the scene. Witt is now publicly asking federal authorities to include her deputies in the investigation. She argues that local law enforcement should be involved, as the shooting happened under their watch.
