South Africa's national football coach, Hugo Broos, has promised major changes to the Bafana Bafana squad. This follows the team's elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
South Africa lost 2-0 to Cameroon in the tournament's last sixteen. After the match, Broos admitted his team's defence struggled. He also said key players failed to perform well.
The coach now looks ahead to qualifying matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He says he will select new players to build a stronger team for the future.
Broos led Cameroon to the AFCON title in 2017. He took charge of South Africa in 2021.
