Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has announced the death of her one-year-old son.
The child, Nkanu Nnamdi, was one of Adichie's twin boys. He died on Wednesday after a short illness.
A statement from the novelist's communications team confirmed the news. It said the family is "deeply saddened."
Adichie, an award-winning writer, is known globally for novels like "Americanah" and "Half of a Yellow Sun."
