A promotional robot designed to dance and entertain required a human assist after a malfunction at the CES technology conference in Las Vegas.
Video from the show floor captures the moment the bipedal robot, meant to demonstrate agility, became entangled with a lightweight barrier. Instead of stopping, the robot continued its programmed dance routine, dragging the barrier along as it moved.
An on-site technician quickly intervened. He manually detached the barrier, allowing the robot to resume its performance. The incident highlights the ongoing challenges in robotics, where unpredictable real-world environments can disrupt even pre-programmed actions.
CES, one of the world's largest tech expos, is a common venue for companies to showcase prototype robots and advanced artificial intelligence systems.
