A far-left group has claimed it caused a major power outage in Berlin earlier this month. However, German police say they have not identified any suspects.
The "Volcano Group" said it was responsible for sabotaging an electrical facility on January 3. The act left approximately 100,000 residents and businesses without electricity.
In a statement posted online, the group said the attack was a protest against "imperialist Germany." Authorities are analyzing the claim but have not verified it.
A police spokesperson confirmed the criminal investigation is ongoing. "The perpetrators remain unidentified," the spokesperson said. The sabotage targeted critical infrastructure, a serious crime under German law.
The incident has raised security concerns about the vulnerability of essential public services.
