Spain Offers Troops for Ukraine, Palestine Peace Missions

Spain has announced it is prepared to send peacekeeping soldiers to two major conflict zones: Ukraine and the Middle East. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated Spain would contribute forces to a future European Union peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, if conditions allow. He separately addressed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Regarding Palestine, Sánchez said any Spanish deployment of peacekeepers would require clear political progress first. He directly linked sending troops to advances in the peace process and movement toward international recognition of two independent states, Israel and Palestine.
