A U.S. judge has ordered billionaire Leslie Wexner to testify in the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Subpoenas were also served to Epstein's former lawyer and accountant.
The legal orders compel them to provide testimony. The move is part of the government's probe into the financier's sex trafficking network.
"These subpoenas are a major step in our investigation," said a statement from the office handling the case. "We are seeking justice for victims and the truth for the public."
Wexner, the founder of L Brands, was once Epstein's only known client. He has previously denied knowledge of Epstein's crimes. The subpoenas to Epstein's former lawyer and accountant aim to uncover new financial and legal details.
All parties are now legally required to comply with the court orders.
