Ex-Army Chief, Two Wives Arrested in Malaysia Graft Probe

Malaysian anti-corruption agents have arrested the country's former army chief and his two wives. The arrests are part of an investigation into military contract tenders.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) detained former General Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan on Wednesday. His wives were arrested after they arrived at the MACC headquarters to give statements.
Another couple was also arrested and ordered held for seven days in the same investigation. All suspects are being questioned about alleged corruption in military procurement.
The MACC has not released further details. The case highlights ongoing efforts to combat graft within Malaysia's government institutions.
