An off-duty Hong Kong police sergeant has been arrested and suspended after allegedly crashing a private car into a van while driving drunk. The incident occurred at the Kowloon East regional police headquarters.
The officer, a station sergeant based at the same headquarters, faces four charges. These are drink-driving, careless driving, failing to stop after an accident, and failing to report an accident.
A police spokesman confirmed the charges on Wednesday. The sergeant's case is scheduled to be heard at Kwun Tong Court.
