The government of Ivory Coast has formally resigned. President Alassane Ouattara accepted the resignations on Wednesday.
This move is a procedural step. It allows the president to appoint a new cabinet following recent elections.
The change comes after the president's own political party won a landslide victory. The ruling RHDP party secured a strong majority in the National Assembly in last month's legislative vote.
A new government is expected to be formed soon.
